Level Up! Inc., the undisputed market leader in the online gaming industry will mark another milestone with the next big addition to the world of Ragnarok!
This October 10, 2007 Level Up! will launch Ragnarok Online’s very own Free-to-Play server, Valkyrie. This is just another step in the continuing development of the highly diverse and detailed world that is Ragnarok Online.
Mon Macutay, Level Up! Marketing Manager, explains the goals of Valkyrie, “Ragnarok Valkyrie aims to grow the market by reaching out to people who are not used to paying the monthly subscription fee. Instead of paying for their game time, players can opt to buy in-game items using top-up cards which will help them in their adventures.”
As of today, Ragnarok Online has more than 7 million registered subscribers. Level Up! expects to grow that number even further as they open the free-to-play server this October.
Besides being free-to-play, Valkyrie’s server settings and features are considered firsts in the world of online gaming. Various maps are player-kill (PK) enabled which means players can attack one another without any warning.
“Valkyrie is all about community and competition – both factors fueled the success of the previous servers of Ragnarok Online and we believe that the PK feature combined with the free-to-play model will be the defining characteristics for Valkyrie,” explains Carlo Ople, Level Up! Brand Manager for Ragnarok Online.
RO players can relive the adventures all over again, only this time, they must watch out for both monsters and other players!
